hi.i bought a peugeot 207 cc from new in march 2008. i had the car 5wks when it broke down. it took them 2wks to find out what was wrong! its the abs-ecu! (double dutch to me) so they have sent for the part. the part should have been delivered on the 14 may & i was told i could pick it up on the 15 may. but i was away till the sat 17 may. i rang them first thing mon 20 may. to arrange to pick my car up. but was told the part had not come! this week i rang peugeot head office to complain. they have rung me back to inform me they are trying to chase the part up for me. but they cannot give me a date when the part will arrive. i am now on to my 3rd courtesy car. they have now had my car 6weeks. how long should i wait till i demand a replacement car & can i do this! just dont no where i stand / or know my rights.
As they are repairing it and have provided you with a courtesy car, I'm not sure there's much you can do. You could ask for compensation and contact Consumer Direct and get some advice from them.
thanks for the reply . i phoned the AA legal people up & they said to give them a few more weeks! i thought of asking for compensation . but didnt know what to ask for! as i bought the car on finance! so thought of asking for a full tank off petrol. have you any ideas on what i could ask for.
Just write a letter of complaint to them. In it write something along the lines of 'with the length of time it has taken to resolve this problem, I feel it only fair that Peugeot compensate me for the trouble this has caused'
If they agree to some form of compensation always ask for parts or services, you get more for your money than with cash. A tank of petrol is a good idea.
