Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have recently received a CPN for overstaying by 15 minutes whilst visiting a local Staples shop for supplies. Town & City Parking have just sent the letter stating the sum of £60 is outstanding and a further £10 administration fee will be due if not paid within 14 days otherwise they will call in a debt recovery agent!! I will follow the advice given here because, as usual, we are being screwed by people simply out to make money - reason doesn't enter into it! No one was disadvantaged in any way by my delay, and I certainly did not break any laws. The carpark was half empty!! Any additional words of wisdom or supportive replies would be most welcomed...
BTW aren't our private details are supposed to be protected under the data protection act? Can the DVLA sell on our details to third parties without our consent?

Yes, the dvla have argued that in order for private companies and landlords to seek redress, they must be allowed to access their database. Rules of privacy will not apply.
