Hi just joined so not sure if im posting in the right place or not and not to clued up about financial practices so bare with me.
Looking for some advice regarding a RBS Credit Cards i have.
As with my previous post i took a loan out to amalgamate all my debt. I got cheques made up for the amount owed and these were taken to the bank and paid against the bank giro slips.
Regarding one CC before i presented the cheque a manual payment was made then a monthly minimum amount was taken and the cheque was paid making me actually in credit by about £500. A week or so later i checked my online banking to find that they had taken of about £220 in charges including interest, payment protection and an overlimit fee.
When i called the bank to query this i was informed that this was normal practice and all the charges were for the previous month so were in fact correct. Im currently waiting for my other statements from my cards to see if the same happens on those cards as well.
Can someone advise me on this as have no clue about this, is this the case that the interest etc is for the previous month, i was always under the impression that it was worked out on your current balance.
Once again any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
