Default First steps of a new claim

I sent of my first letter for a claim against A&L (didn't need the DPA request as had statements) and within 24 hours got this reply. Can anyone translate it into laymans terms or is it a fob off?

    Thanks in advance

It is a fob off. Carry on with your claim.

Nick, could we have a scan of the first page of this letter.

It acknowledges that A&L considers that the legal status of charges is unclear. This means that every negative entry put on to the credit register is in breach of the code of practice and of guidance supplied to banks and CRAs by the IC.

Anyone who has received a charges-related entry on their credit file should complain to the CRA, IC and to the fosicon.

Sure, how do you want me to send the scan?
