Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Ok, this may sound mad but I am currently appealing against a pcn issued by our council where my car was parked in a loading bay, which is also the 'pick up point' for marks & spencers nearby, where my father was doing his shopping. (i was only there to meet him with his shopping when he appeared)
Anyway the CEO was a mouthy ***** and her attitude stank, so i appealed and made a formal complaint against her. I handed the appeal into the council and am awaiting the outcome.
Now me being me, i have a few CCJ's from credit cards and a couple of suppliers. I live with my father in a council house and have been there done that got the T shirt with bailiffs, HCEO's, even warning (HCEO's) them its my fathers house and all goods and vehicles within the property belong to him (my father even signs a statement confirming this), meaning that if they take goods, action can be taken as a result of trespass and they could be sued. It worked, and being self employed no matter what enforcement methods they try, it gets them nowhere.
Although I am the registered keeper of the car I drive, my father is the legal owner (he even has the finance agreement which is upto date as the car was new.)
Now what is the score with the council as about 8 years ago i remember getting a parking ticket in a council car park and the worst that happened is that I got a CCJ - they tried the usual enforcement methods (bailiffs, attatchment of earnings, oral examination, third party debt order) but they had no joy because claiming money through the civil courts, theres only so much you can do.
Is it still the same now its all 'decriminalised'? - because if it is i bet theres a few people out there who couldnt give a hoot if all they got was another CCJ at its worst, being in the same boat as me (i know i sound mad but im not the only one, i stick my fingers up to moneygrabbers)
If the worst is a ccj with the usual enforcement methods then that is pretty much fine and dandy!
I even had a statutory demand once, i said 'please make me bankrupt as it would save me the 400 odd quid of doing it myself' - nothing ever came of it haha!
I suppose the could clamp the vehicle if they saw it out and about but with my father being the legal owner, what leg would they have to stand on? - Mind you my father cant walk too far nowadays, maybe i should get it registered disabled

my apologies i didnt mean it like that, basically if theres a bill i pay it, of course i do but as soon as the people wanting payment turn into moneygrabbers then i take my stand and tell them no matter what method they use to try get money out of me, it will fail.
i even once told a cred card company where to go as their attitude stank, i had some money to pay them but thought stuff them, gave it to charity (sport aid i think) was a few hundred quid. it went where it was needed, not where it was 'wanted'
Told u im mad but i dont care, lifes too short to worry!
