Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
My Dad took out a loan 11 years ago with these wasters. Even though he was unemployed due to ill health they told him he had to take out the PPI to get the loan.
Over the last few years he has requested that they cancel this in telephone calls but they still continued to charge is up to the end of last year!
I have now sent them a letter to request that they refund this money to him, to which we have had no response. A second letter was sent and still nothing!
We have now reported them to the fos and received a letter from them that they are looking into the complaint.
I'll let you know what happens next!
p.s. Seems to me the credit agreement we CCA'd them for in unenforceable too as it just a bog standard application form with lots of the prescribed T & C's omitted (But thats another stoory)!!!!!
Look forward with great interest to your reply from the fos.
The claim I'm helping a good friend with, against MBNA (IpswichWitch vs MBNA for mis-sold PPI) is a very similar circumstance - he too is long term unemployed due to ill health, and I'd be VERY interested to hear what the FOS have to say about your claim.
The very best of luck with your claim - Adam.

MBNA - over £1k for mis-sold PPI - WON - approx £1500(IpswichWitch vs MBNA . . .)
My advice, for what its worth (!) would be to wait at least another week. From my experience, these organisations take at least 2 weeks to respond to anything, and the fos very probably longer.
If you allow them a 'reasonable time' (14 to 21 days) for a response before hassling them, then you are seen to be reasonable in your actions, and that can only help your case, IMHO.
All the best - Adam.
