    Question 4 weeks sick leave - return company car?

    Hello all.

    I have been given 4 weeks sick leave by my doctor for stress reasons.

    I have a company car - and my work has informed me that they want the car returning to them while I am on sick leave.

    Are my employers allowed to ask for my company car back?

    Hi,
    Seems a bit drastic. Do you pay anything towards your personal milage ? I have a company car and pay for my own personal mileage which allows me to have it during holidaysicon or sickness. I think i have to be off for 6 months before they would ask for it back.

    It depends what it says in your contract: if the car is solely for work use, then it is their asset, and they have this right.

    However, if the contract allows for personal use as well, then this implies you do not need your own car, and they should not remove this benefit from you without putting it in writing first...
