Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have just picked up my 'new' second hand car today - a Citroen C8 on a '54' plate and cost £8995 from a reputable 2nd hand car dealer locally to me. It has 37000miles on the clock.
I purchased the vehicle using my old car as a trade in paying the rest in a mixture of cash and a small amount on my credit card.
I have done less than 90 miles in it today and it has developed a major system fault. I have done some research on the net tonight and it appears that it is a common system fault but can take any where from a week to two weeks to fix at a main dealership.
I rely on my car for business as well as private use. I have no other transport and do not have the funds to hire a car or arrange anything else as I am currently going through a divorce and have no spare funds whatsoever.
I have lost half a days work so far today and won't be able to work tomorrow either because of it.
I have had a string of bad luck with cars in the last 6 months which is why I decided to spend a bit of money and get something reliable!
I have lost all faith in this vehicle and really want to get hold of the dealer in the morning and tell them to give me another car instead of this as I really don't think I can trust this vehicle to be reliable after this happening after a few hours.
Please Please can someone tell me what my rights are as it's causing me so much stress as I stand to lose a lot of money in lost work because of this, which I cannot afford to do.
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

If they are reputable, they will take full reponsibility for the problem and lend you a car while it is fixed? Dont get to het up about it, see what they say.
These electrical gremlins catch us all out from time to time.
Did you know about this possible problem before you bought the car, as you seem to intimate you knew it existed, then maybe you should have bought something else. There is no such thing as a car that does not go wrong sometime.
I hope they are reasonable and responsible and all will be well in time.
Take care and have a good week end.
