Hi
I am looking to claim back about £900 from Egg re PPI. I contacted Egg last year and they sent me all the information I think I need. Could someone possibly help me with the initial letters requesting repayment? Are there any templates I could use. Any help would be appreciated.
You need to put all the PPI they charged you onto a spreadsheet.
I charged them 22.9% interest on top.
When you've done that, you need to do a PRELIM asking for it back.
Have a good read of the FAQ's .
Good luck
Mr P
Yes I have already done the spreadsheet, I was wondering if there is a template letter for the prelim. I have a claim stayed at the moment for bank charges with the Abbey, so I know a little about the court process. I have looked through several PPI threads but cant find anything re prelim letter. I didnt realise I had PPI until I saw this on the website and went back to check.
After re-examining the paperwork sent to me on 20 July 2007, I am a little concerned to find that you have not acted upon point 6 i.e. “your claim for Credit Card Repayment Protection will be looked at separately and we will be in touch about this shortly”. This has not happened.
I am therefore writing to ask you to refund the CCRP which you levied from my account between 02/08/02 and 02/11/04.
I have calculated how much I have spent in CCRP between 02/08/02 and 02/11/04 and quite frankly I was shocked, especially as I have proof that this insurance was mis-sold.
What I require
I calculate that you have taken £560.66 from my account, plus the interest charged on this amount which is £1045.60. The total amount I am claiming is £1606.26. I enclose a schedule of the payments and interest which I am claiming with this letter.
My targets to resolve this matter
I hope that you will enter into a sincere dialogue with me about this matter and I am writing this letter to you on the assumption that you will prefer to do this than merely respond with standard letters and leaflets.
I will give you 14 days to reply to me accepting, unconditionally, my request in principle and letting me know a date by which I will receive payment. I will require the monies in the form of a cheque, made payable to Mr P .
If you do not respond, or you do not respond positively, within this time period, I shall send you a letter before action giving you a further 14 days in which to reflect. I believe that these targets are more than sufficient for a large company such as yours with dedicated staff and departments.
If I do not receive a favourable response from you I will pursue this claim through the county court.
