Hi all
Last Friday I stopped in a loading bay (20 min loading sign) and went into the shop to pick up an order about 3 shops down from the bays.. I had to check through the order and was a maximum of 10-15 mins with the assistant and then went back to the car to place my child (2yrs) in whilst I loaded the new toilet in..
My car was already on the back of a lorry.. as usual I was livid and asked the chap what was he doing as I was loading some goods.. he said that I wasn't etc etc .. left me stuck with my toddler with no pram or change bag.. I had to pay £260 to get it back from the depot 2hrs later.
The ticket states that the car was viewed from 10.31 to 10.34 which was confirmed by the cashier and that it takes at least 15 mins to load it on the lorry.. i was arguing with the attendant for a good 20 mins whlst they were loading it.... is there any advice on making a claim on this ticket which I feel amounts to legalised theft... the attendant said that I was not present loading.. I have a letter from the shop saying that I was picking up an order.. the shop assistant even came out to argue my case.
Any advice here
Hi
Can you say where this took place, you could complain the the management company, it would be useful if the assistant can confirm your version, clearly the driver of the pick-up truck is lying, therefore your car was removed fraudulently.
Tfl only give 3 mins observations on red route bays 20 mins is how long you can load for, not how long you can leave the vehicle there for. Although loading/unloading does allow for the checking of paperwork it does not allow time for the purchase or selection of goods. You can appeal but will need to show that it took 15 mins to collect your toilet and that it had already been ordered and paid for in advance.
