Angry Re: has abbey closed any accounts

Abbeyicon have closed my account recently, I am claiming bank charges back of them, stuck in the court case system at the moment, but I came out of work and had a £700 over draught, I paid in a cheque and when it had cleared tried to draw on it and the request was refused (I should have had about £200 available) A few days later I received a letter asking to return card and cheque book, I owe them about £350 at the moment and this morning got my first letter from the debt collectorsicon, I haven't been a model customer over the years (but most people claiming back charges are probably the similar) Annoying thing is they owe me alot more than I owe them but Im the one being hassled by the Debt collector

    Hi

Nothing to worry about, if you post some information, such as what the letter states, and who it is from, then experienced members can advise on the next step.

    Regards

I am claiming back from Abbeyicon, and they are refusing to renew my debit card, making it very difficult to use my account! My new card didn't turn up so I called them, they said it was probably a security check. I was told to go to my branch with identification and they would call the underwriters to sort it out. At my branch I was told to call the underwriters myself! They were very unhelpful! I have been with them for 25years or so. Has anybody got any advise.

Abbeyicon are in breach of the Banking Codeicon as they should not have closed your account for making a reasonable complaint.

Do a credit file search. you will probably find that they have made negative entries against you despite the fact that you have commenced a dispute. This is also a breach of the Code. It is also a breach of contract and a breach of the data Protection Act.
