Unfortunately i'm not an expert in any given field legally and my advice and that of the Consumer Action Group and the Bank Action Group is given without prejudice and without liability so please if in any doubt whatsoever seek help from an insured qualified professional. Contents of my posts are purely my own personal opinions and not condoned or endorsed in any way, shape or form by CAG. Thank you!

Hi, just starting in on the woolwich and Barclays for my OH, can i send both Data Protection Act's to barclays or do i have to do one for each as they are connected? anyone know? also will one £10 fee do for both? many thanks, forgive my ignorance but i'm not au fait with barclays as i've said it's my OH's accounts!
Hi Cillitbanger,
I'd do a separate one for each as your agreements were with the two different banks.
I didn't send the £10 when I asked for the Data Protection Act information from Woolwich, I just offered it and they provided the information free of charge.
as companies they're tangled up with each other in ways you don't even want to begin to understand... but they do have separate company and accounting responsbilities, so you should send two separate claims. neither will take responsibility for the other's actions.
If you don't send the £10 they are under no obligation to supply any information under Data Protection Act. Barclays will no doubt return your cheque, don't know about the woolwhich
