Are you sure it has been changed, did you get your old sensor back ?

These can be cleaned with an aerosol of brake cleaner and the hotwire rarely gives trouble.

I have had experience of this problem myself.

did you take it to a nissan garage?

when the MAF went on my passat I thought I'd save some money and not go to the VW dealer... after quite a few quid and hours on "limp mode" I gave in went there and it turned out not to be the MAF at all but another sensor, the bloke spotted it in about 10 mins on the correct diagnostic machines... the ones we had been using previously were good, but not up to the VW specialist ones.

This seems to be a lot of money to me for a MAF, A bosch one for my car (the part only) new was only about £120 if I remember correctly. It took about 10 mins to fit.

I assume the garage did a diagnostic and thought this was the problem? Was the bill for replacing the MAF or for fixing the problem? If it was for the latter I'd be taking it back and telling them that they can jolly well fix it properly this time
