Hi, Joined my children to a class on a monthly basis and it was to go out of my account.
Signed membership and handed in same day of march and all seemed well.
I hadnt heared anything and asked the class when was the money to start going out and he said 1st of month. Fine.
I received a letter from the company who deals with their finances and my dd would go to and it felt like a reprimand. The letter said my as my membership agreement had been received late that my account was as a result not up to date. I'll be honest all they had to send was what I expected a schedule of direct debit and that would have been fine. But I rang them to ask why was the letter on the offensive towards me a new member and that I worried if a problem ever happened, how would they deal with that. They seemed unaware that stating my account was behind was a concern and as a result I decided as it was on a monthly basis it was best to cancel now.
I let them know and they said they would inform their client and send me confirmation via post. I havnt recieved it and they also said they wouldnt take any money from my account.
Being careful I called my bank and said cancel dd and was told there wasnt one set up yet and to call back in a couple of days. I did and was told the company had set up the dd on the same day they spoke to me on the phone and the bank were convinced this was a recent set up. They cancelled it for me and I wrote again asking for confirmation of cancelation and a confirmed statement of account and I would send a Full and final settelment, as in one months fee.
I've heared nothing and am starting to worry. I have also emailed the club via their site comments and had no reply.
Any advice appreciated. I'm just worried because of the nature of the first letter and the fact I have not had written confirmation of anything.
I think you can put this on the pile of dreadful customer service. If you hadn't followed the DD route, you would have been in full control at all times. The fact you are dealing with the supplier (membership) and their nominated outsourced payment agency, means too many folk are involved to make this work well!
Definately dreadful customer service and thats what put me off.
It was the club who asked me to fill in the dd and they have chosen the company to manage their dd's I suppose. I could have paid by cash but this was frowned against as took too much time within the class.
Just phoned them again and they say they have told the academy and are willing to cancel with one months membership. So will wait for confirmation in writing as requested. I just think I was worried because they had not wriitten back and that they would try and take two months due to it being nearly two weeks since first contact. They did seem flumoxed and she kept saying you would like it in writing?, so its obvious they hadnt done anything yet.
I get a little anxious because previously I had waited over two years for the council to do repairs to the house, that they promised would be done in two weeks. An assessor later said well theres one thing you have to learn, people can say anything, it doesnt mean they will do it. I have to admit that untill recently I trusted just about anything a person would say, another words a MUG!!!!!!
