Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Same as me last night, to reliable collections, they changed my agreement without prior consent, levied on £12 charge for late payment and insisted I Pay. So, opened folder with details on what to say from this and other forums, quoted cca etc...and said it was illegal for me to record the conversation! Umm, no it isnt, then hung up....i did smile....
We have many excellent members who's communication skills are now unsurpassed thanks to CAG
Perhaps we should start our very own call centre (premium rate of course) to which we can refer all DCA's & OC's wanting to talk to us - I doubt recruitment would be a problem
Of course we will need to ask very lengthy security questions & leave them on hold while they listen to crappy musak or better still play them the soundtrack to The Sting
Just had a thought - one of the 'security' question will have to be
"do you have a father & do you know him" followed by "do you have a mother & do you know her" & so on
& when they say "what the hell has that got to do with you"
You say "well the last time someone from your company phoned they were a little bar steward & I was checking to see if you are the same person"
Just another quickie before I go, BCW called my fiance's mum and asked her where her daugher lived and a contact number...is this a breach of data protection as some debts are crawling out of the woodwork on a previous address for utilities..I want proof that she does owe this money, I also have played hardball on her behalf and BCW are absolute G**ts to deal with...have an appt with cccs on friday about this and others...
i had Lowell ring me today and when i asked where my CCA agreement was he hung up too, must be the bad news they have recieved from the OFT today !!!

It's not a proper link. It was meant to be a joke because I got the DCA to hang up on me.
That darn sense of humour of mine!
Sorry... my apologies.. My sense of humour is usually pretty keen.. Very bad night trying to work out what to say to Barclaycard and Mercers and I missed the pun. Now................ of course I get it..

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
