I need help aswell I am goign to explain my experience! I know its long but bare with me please!!!!! HELP!!!
It all seams so good at first! You walk in loadsa cars! Loadsa people, Firendly sales guys (who jump on you when they see you).
I applied for finance over the internet and I got a cheerful phone call saying you had been approved for the vaxhall astra 18i sri! (come on!!)
I went home got changed and jetted down there! WOOOOOO
I got there found the beauty which wasnt the one in the photo same spec though. So I arranged to go back next day and collect it! Nice
Next day all excited I went down there while doing my credit checks they stood me next to my car as the was cleaning I loved it!
I got a very worried gentlemen walking towards me! "I'm sorry miss but we cant sell you this car!" I went off the handle! The car they'd promised me on the internet was cheaper than the one they had there which they swore was the same one at first! So after much disscussion I give up and said right F**K YA! I walked out, after I calmed down I walked back in and told the guy to show me some other cars.He said ok coz of the confustion I'll knock a grand off any car under £10k, I said to him knock a grand off the astra and I can get that then! He replied any car but that one! I became to think maybe this car had been double selled obviously more money for him if he got more ££ out of it! HE showed me a yellow mini! £8995 I like minis dont get me wrong not the nicest one (no air con etc) even though he said top of the range, scratch on the front, not too sad. I said na I dont want it, he told me it was too late we had stuck a deal on finance and that I had to pick one! Being young and stupid I fell for it! I picked the mini because I was angry
Finance all got set up " right miss if you just sign there......£344 a month! I went r u kidding me the astra was only £194 a month!! They told me I had to buy the insurance on the finance and the extemded warrenty! I told them bollox and no way could I afford that! But that was the only reason had I of been able to I prob would have got it! Again they said I had to or I couldn't get the finance. I told the bollox AGAIN!
They went away came back and came up with a figure! Still fuming I sign £240 a month! What a mug! So I've now got this car I dont want! with my FREE fully comprehesive cover (up to £300 they forget to add that as it aint fully comp then! Durrrr)
Now I've had the car 5 months and 5,000 mile later gearbox and clutch goes! I think great thts kl I have my warrenty! RUBBISH! Wear and tear! A car thats been fully inspected by car craft shouldnt f**k up after 5 months! especially only @ only 5 years old, I've got dogs older than that who I've never had problems with! gear box and clutch for mini any guesses on how much? put it this way £600 for a clutch!!!! So I took it private but VAT registared but coz they aint known to NAC I have to pay and claim back! (yeah like I'll ever see that again) So I went car craft pretended to buy a car! yes all cars are fully comprehensive cover. So I wacked out all me facts the bloke didnt no where to look. Got the manager (tune soon changed after they figured I didnt wanna buy a car) he was rude, stumpy and stupid lol! my dad got very angry and people started to looka dn the guy obviously see this and asked us to leave! while walking out told few people not to buy it'll be a huge mistake! Guy got shirty with my dad (which u dont wana do coz he'll just pop one on ya nose lol) Dad told him to **** off and get a real job not muging people off and we walked out!
I've recently then again got in contact with the warrenties company NAC (beware) I asked him to explain all and he got all shirty with me! (whats wrong with people) I've give him me licence plate reg and I asked him my address. He read it exactly post code and everything with out asking me who I was or anything! Im not being funny but anyone can walk down the road and get a number plate and find out where u live! and I don't want my past creeping up on me and finding out where I live if they see me driving a CARCRAFT logo in the back! it don't take a rocket scientist to no that they all come with warrenties with NAC.
I've reported all this to trading standards but I'm not sure what will happen next. Will I get some kind of compensation or appology? What kind of justice will they get?? I wanna tell ya about the finiance company who threatened me saying they was gonna tell my family I'd missed a payment and had me in tears, let alone the fact I brought the car for almost £9k and its worth about £5k now after 5 months!!!! but this is long enouff as it is, please help
wow- if i am presented with anybody who used language such as yours so freely then my standard response is "sorry i cannot help, try somewhere else."
but then again i do not work for commision
How long since you told Trading Standards, could you give them a bell and see if they intend any action ?
Write down everything you can remember in the order that it happened, do it now before something slips your mind.

I contacting them just before I typed this up... apparently they have 2 days to get back to me but if its not classed as important something else will happen. I have gotta write sooo many letter and I'm goign to get me mini back tonight which Im kind of pleased because I been paying payments and driving round in my nans saxo!!
If I had been conned like the OP I'd be doing a lot more than swearing - & I would get somewhere believe me - bloody shysters

I have reported them but I don't have much confidence in them to trace it up! reading all these posts I am suprised that they are still allowed to trade etc etc. When I spoke to the gentlemen who took my complaint I told him that the only reason I rung was becuase of this forum and he said more people should complain even if its just for advise! People think they have no rights but they do! I've got to write to my finace company, car craft to see if I can get my money back and one to my warrenty company becuase they broke the data protection act! I feel like I'm gonna dig a hole for myself but if I dont dig it I'll never no!!
Update! Just spoke to Trading standards! Thurrock Council are investigating Car Craft! WOOP WOOP! Turns out up to 6 months they have to take responcibilty for any problems!!
Spoke to my finiance company! Got a great girl dealing with it! They are writing to carcraft on my behalf to sort them out!
I have to collect all evidence that I have tried my hardest to get them to pay up for if it all goes to court! Gotta just wait for replies now! 14 days and counting! Gotta do soooo many letters its unreal!!! Just can't wait for justice! Hoping maybe if this is a door open for me sooo many others can do the same!!!!
mease you must be new to the consumer forums - 'many' already have successfuly - why do you think you got the cooperation from the HP co & TS you did - they are probably so used to your situation they are reading from a script!

Well i dont read anyone elses problems! I'm not that nosey lol!! to be honest I just want my money back!!!

and I didnt mean it like that! have a look I've trid helping people! I haven't gone back and read things from years ago! I've read some upto date ones though and I've put my point forward! other than that I have not seen successful ones recently! Theres no need for the anger Jon hence I was joking "lol"
60k and it had already had a new clutch @ 48k. Guy at garage said the gearbox was faulty and if I had of carriedon driving it the possibilty was it would lock up spin out and kill me or a passer by!

no when he started talking everything out to either fix or replace the gearbox, he said something about the bearings and the box just falling out and then after that he noticed the clutch was mangled too!
60,000 on the clock all up to date on services and its 5 years old,
I ment clutch on my last post 48k and a new clutch!
It should detail the work done and the parts used as well as the labour costs.
