Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi to everyone - First post but been an avid viewer for some time now.
Sent a letter requesting my credit agreement and telling them I had been misold the protection after reading through the threads.
Yorkshire Bank sent back a letter with my credit agreement (photo copy) saying that as I had ticked the box you are agreeing that you are eligible for the policy and that it is suited to your needs.
Following the set up of your account you were sent a welcome pack for the payment protection policy. This pack explained to you the limitaion and exclusions of the policy. It also advised you of the action that you should take if after further deliberation you felt that the insurance was not suitable.
Hi Hopeful1 I have looked through the thread previously and it seemed to be more geared towards loans. Unless I have missed something drastic. I was informed how to fill the sheet in from the bank as I was overseas in the army at the time. I remember vividly making the call even back in 95 but how on earth am I going to prove that now?????
Can you clarify - did you receive the welcome pack with the info if you were overseas?
Did they explain the insurance on the 'phone and ask questions about whether you had other insurances etc?
I'm also wondering about your job in the army - obviously this has a high risk level. Was that covered? You need a copy of the of the policy and its terms and conditions.
I'm midway through the tunnel, but getting closer to the light.
