Hello
Sorry - not sure if I'm posting this in the right place! Just as an outline this is my problem
Bought a motorhome 2004 -
Kept thinking it looked different to the one we wanted & asked to purchase - lots of little things that now make sense - thought it couldn't be different as it had the same registration number!!
Had lists of problems - the dealer did little repairs - but we needed new parts that they promised. Were fobbed off for nearly a year. 'Workshop extremely busy' but on the two occassions we just turned up without an appointment the workshop was deserted!! They cancelled our appointments three times also during that year.
The Friday before the Monday we were booked in I decided to call to double-check the parts had arrived in from Spain. I was then told they (the dealer) had gone into liquidation that morning....
I know..... it does get worse.
I took the vehicle for its first MOT & the garage said there was a typo on the documents - I should get it changed with the DVLA. Thought nothing more about it until a motorhome dealer told me to check the paperwork very carefully & if the agreement had the wrong vehicle details on - the agreement would be void - I could return the motorhome & get the money back that I have paid.
On checking I have 3 chassis numbers - one on the V5 document
- one on the Black Horse agreement
- one on the plate under the bonnet
I've been told by someone at Black Horse (when he was trying to disprove what I was saying) that all three chassis numbers are registered to the one registration plate. He said it was very odd.
DVLA - have called four times and they couldn't get me off the phone quick enough
Trading Standard - no luck there
CAB - waste of time
I wrote to Black Horse with all the details - I told them I wouldn't pay them another penny.
They replied June last year to say they could see no problem with the vehicle. Standard blah blah letter.
Then this week I've been sent a letter asking me to bring the arrears up to date!!
Should I send an SAR? I've asked them a dozen times but they always send a statement - no Breakdown or charges.
Can anyone recommend a solicitor who could help me with this -

So which vin number tallies with the one on the vehicle?
I don't understand the bit about the DVLA. If you have three different vin numbers then the DVLA should be able to tell you from which vehicle it came.
Supply the vehicle reg number and the vin from under the bonnet and request a new V5 from DVLA.
