Ok here is the deal with MET Parking. They cannot take you to court for the huge amount they threaten to. They can only take you to court for the amount the parking ticket cost you which isn't worth their while.

They will send you endless letters asking for payment, then after 3 or 4 months the letters will have FINAL WARNING or something like that written on it. You will then receive a phone call from their so called solicitors asking you to confirm your post code as they are going to take you to court & need to send you the papers (since when do solictors do this?!!!). The papers will then arrive with another FINAL WARNING on it.

I went through all this over about a 6 month period & they eventually go away as they know full well they cannot take you to court. The letters & phone calls are just to scare you into paying. Take it from me ignore them completely, keep all the papers & get on with your life as they will crawl back under the rock they came from eventually.

Also I forgot to add that I'm pretty sure that the MET Police took them to court as they use a very similar name & logo - check it out - very similar. Why do you think they chose the MET Police name & logo to copy? - as it will scare people into paying without argument & they will think it is above board if they are linked to the police.

Well said. ALL MET paperwork I have seen is unlawful, often illegal.

If they ring you, to ask for your post code, tell them to put their request in writing - then put the phone down!

Seems strange that they would have to ring you for your post code instead of spending about 3 seconds typing your address into this royal mail page which gives you an instant post code!

like all their communications its just a pretext. never say who you are and when they ask for someone just say "hang on please" then leave the phone off the hook for quite a while.

my name is Shaun and im from London.. A couple of months back i got a pcn from the MET Parking Services who have subsequently sent me 3 letter demanding i pay what is now an amount of £150 after supposedly exceeding the parking restriction for
Billingsgate Mcdonalds car park

After reading numerous informative topics and threads about members similar situations i have taken your advice and ignore the documentation that have been sent..but just this morning i was amazed to see a letter from "Roxburghe debt collectors" demanding i pay the £150 outstanding. Now this has never happened to me before and i not versed with the legal proceeding and what to say or do.

I am really worried that given that i have not paid the amount that they will send round debt collector to my parents house (as this is the cars registered address). My parents are elderly and they do not need the headache and stress associated with debt collectors

So what do i do? say? write back with? what will happen next?? shall i just pay the amount and be done with it??


Really hope you can help me guys???

Its standard stuff. their pattern is well known. MET don't do court - their paperwork is far too unlawful. Just ignore it all and file it safely in the desk.

Don't panic kangzy, as lamma says, this is the normal progress of letters. You've had your 3 or so from MET, now you'll probably get 2 from Roxburghe, then maybe 1 or 2 from their "solicitors" Graham White (who isn't a real solicitor).

Im in the same boat as you, had 2 invoices from Roxburghe and am just going to ignore until they go away. If they dont go away I will just go to the police, oft etc.

Roxburghe/Graham White seem like a joke they just ignore anything you send them and send another invoice.

My wife too has now received her 4th piece of correspondence from MET. The charge has now risen to £125 so they have charged £25 for admin to send the latest piece of junk.

Having spent hours reading all the stuff about this bunch of sharks I am doing nowt about this.

Whats interesting on these ones is that MET cant even get their dates right

The first Date of issue of this notice received was 12-03-09 then another one was issued dated 22-04-09 and the latest one gives the date of issue as 22-04-09.

so for the same pcn, MET have two different dates.

As an aside has anyone written the template letter to DVLA requesting info from them and informing them of MET's activitires and actually had a response with all of the information requested.

hello i have recived my second letter now they are asking for £125 on both my mates wer wiv me on both attempts and they never botherd to give them one wtf help im scared

anthony2009 - Keep all documents from them & enjoy your christmas. They will hassle you for another few months & will then vanish. Trust me. They cannot do anything.

You should do a search for their so called offices on google maps. It's hilarious. Looks more like where Steptoe & Son lived.
