Hello spacehopper and welcome to the forum/
The first thing that you need to do is check that they received it. Did you send it recorded delivery?? If you did you can check on the royal mail website just type in the reference no on your slip:grin: and it will tell you if they received it.
If you sent a cheque have they cashed it????
If they have received it and have now exceeded the statutory timelimits.
Remember to send everything recorded delivery and keep everything

I agree with Hellhasnofury. Send a non-compliance letter asap. I have had several run ins with Welcome on behalf of others, and I have to say is tha my experience is that Welcome are not the most organised bunch. Sometimes this is to our advantage. Good luck and keep us posted
Thank you. Sorry for delay but I've had problems posting any replies.
I sent non-compliance letter, which was received and immediately I received phone call from Welcome. First denying the original letter arrived, then saying the person who signed for it has left the company, then saying they didn't no what an S.A.R. was and had never dealt with one before ! I faxed through the original to them yesterday. What now guys ? Claimimg PPI back seems a long way of .....
What a clever bunch firstly they did not recieve you letter! And Magically the person that signed for the letter they did not receive has left the company ( How Clever is that?) ( Welcome to make believe ) Write back and explain that your request for Data Subject access request is a legal request in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and that they have 40 days in which to comply with your request under the terms of the act.....Ensuring personal data is handled correctly - Data Protection Act
If they fail to comply you have two options firstly a complaint to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) I Have taken this route or you can proceed to Court action. I am not sure as to this route yet but I guess I will become more familiar as the claims go on
Thank you. Sorry for delay but I've had problems posting any replies.

Hello spacehopper,
What a absolute bunch of twaddle, write to them (you need a paper trail) asking for an apology and an explanation as to why they did not comply with your SAR Also what happened to you £10 fee, have they cashed it. Tell them as a gesture of goodwill you will give them 14days before you report them to the Information commissioners office

Hi Spacehopper. That is a typical welcome from welcome that you got! When I asked for a SAR on behalf of someone else, first of all they were late with it and then parts were missing. I wrote back asking for the missing parts are they were essential. Two weeks later I received the exact same pack from them. I wrote again with various threats etc and then they sent a smaller pack but still the essential agreements were missing. I wanted to give them enough rope to hang themselves so I wrote again outlining the parts that were still missing and 3 weeks later they sent only bits and bobs of what I asked for and still the parts I was looking for did not arrive.
This is an ongoing thing with Welcome at the moment and I know full well why they have not sent what I am looking for and the reason is that the main signatory on the agreement was only 17years old at the time when the loan was taken out, his partner who was second co-signatory (but not the main) was 18yo. This at the moment is a minefield of mistakes and coercion into taking loans out that they obviously could not afford. Not only that, they had a PPI added to their loan for £999.00. This is only part of a very long story and it is going to take a bit of time to unravel it all. However once I have got some of it sorted out I will write it up on here. To be honest, someone in Welcome should be taken out and shot at dawn.
Well I always knew this was going to be a long road ...
But hey, they've riled me now !
Thank you all for your comments. I will send letter suggested by HHNF. I can confirm they cashed cheque on 28th February. I must admit it is nice ( and a bit of a change !) to be on the front foot. I will chase them as hard as they would chase me for one missed payment ! I will keep you posted, and good luck Tricky in your ensuing battle !
Well here we are in June ..... and still nothing ! I've complained to Information Commissioner Office via their e:mail form, but nothing from them either. I've got 5 more payments left, can I stop paying and demand action ?
If you stop paying they will most likely default you which would be damaging to your credit record.
Theres nothing to stop you claiming once the account is clear though!
I've had dealings with welcome too and they are a nightmare (although after the second try they did send all the info to my friend but some of the info had a weird box through the centre of the doc obscuring some info. As it turned out not through anything we actually needed).
I believe the Information Commissioner are just backed up but they will eventually get onto it for you
