Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I visited my local Anold Clark branch on 15/03 to enquire about getting a newer ford Ka than my current T reg one.
I was refused finance on a brand new 08, but my current finance company have allowed me a budget of £4000 to spend on a different car, including the negative equity I had outstanding on my current one.
There seemed to be no problems, the salesman was helpful and picked out a Ka which I liked and was within my budget. Anyway, a few days later I was sent the finance agreement, signed everything, but still heard nothing from the garage.
I phoned to enquire and was told that the salesman had taken my car out for a drive and was 'not happy with a noise he heard coming from it', so he had put it into the workshop. Still in limbo 3 days later, I called to be told that my car had been comdemned, that its' engine had failed and they were not prepared to fix the car as it was too old.
Since then I have been given the royal runaround from them. They said as it wasn't my fault, they had another car they would like me to look at, which was worth more than the previous one, but I was not interested in this particular car as it didn't have any of the features I wanted. I felt like they were giving me no choice and the salesman, who was very rude, said I would 'struggle to find a car within my budget.'
Well I was then constantly checking the Arnold Clark website, and there was a car I liked which fitted my budget, but it was in their Ayr branch (I'm in Dundee). They said I could not have this car, that it would cost £250 to trasport it, I then offered to drive through to pick it up but they still said no.
I have since cancelled everything and am now going through another garage but I visited Arnold Clark's website yesterday and lo and behold...the previous car they said was comdemned is back up for sale!
You could always embarrass them Jenni by popping in and asking them face to face and listening to him waffle his way out of it..

"Arnold Clark Complaints"
That will give you further information.

who governs and regulates arnold clark i have a major issue with them, after just 1 year of having my car it has been in the garage 10 times and now they are saying that the engine is building up pressure after they have just replaced the cylinderhead, they are saying the warrenty is going to cover £1700 of this but still expect me to pay another £800 can anyone give me some more information to complain about this
When you say 'is building up pressure', I assume that means crankcase pressure which indicates piston wear or breather problems, so why was the head replaced?

Thought I would bring a few of these to the top so we can see how many have had any satisfaction from Arnold Clark.

In response to the above Conniff, I can confirm that i had an offer of settlement from AC Citroen on Friday.
Initially, the proposals seemed unaceptable, but i have put forward figures relating to an earlier date on which the matter should have been settled, and hope that AC will see fit to accept them in order to finally draw a line under this most stressful affair.
Time to bring this out of the cellar and back into the sunlight
