Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Now then, we all know that Brighthouse has a culture of rudeness and ignoring requests for information, customer service, advice etc. This goes all the way from till monkeys, through to store and regional managers and right up to customer service advisors and SENIOR managers. Nobody EVER calls you back or returns your calls or emails... (infact most emails bounce back)...
A little research using the WHOIS register reveals that Brighthouse (Caversham Finance) own many web domains...
Interestingly, the "customer service" page on their website offers NO facility to make contact by email - although it does say "call, email, pop in store!"
It also gives their customer service department address as:
Heyy lefty, I have read many pposts from yourself and some i might add are rather biased to say the least, arent brighthouse only trying to help people furnish their homes affordably? on a pay weekly contract, although some people will complain, what about those thousands who have a good experiance? they would come on here and praise BH because lets be honest when we have a good experiance we seem to not appreicate it whereas when we are not happy with a service we want to write somewhat 'false' things on forums like this, although I do agree that BH sometimes mislead customers, I am soon to become a customer account advisor and a brand new store and would like to think i am helping people furninish their homes affordable, not ripping them off!

Hi
No comment. Been there. Done that. Bought the T Shirt. Sold the T Shirt...
I will only say this: It must REALLY p*** off the directors at BrightHouse head office when over-enthusiastic employees come on here and trample over thousands of pounds worth of very carefully prepared PR, and meticulously worded statements!
Good luck with your promotion!
Cheers
Lefty

Soo, What Do you think about the customers that have had a good experiance? Im not 'over emthusiastic' Im just stating a fact that there are customers who cannot access credit easily and have to turn to BH. Consider yourself one of them? And you need a New sofa, who would you turn to? BH!
What Exactly do you mean by trampling over thousands of pounds of PR We are sticking up for the company which in essance, allows people to feel good about their home!
And I couldnt Reply sooner as I was at my current work and finished at 10pm!
Yeah right. Do people usually refer themselves as "we" before they have moved
to the new company. And I notice that you did manage to make a couple of visits while you were at work.

Lefty, you would have thought that Ryan1991 would have edited his post on this thread too. Especially as he said although I do agree that BH sometimes mislead customers .
Although I suppose it would still have been visible on your post.
Hi, I really hope someone can advise me on my current situation, as im at wits end as to what to do!
I took an agreement out with brighthouse in January, for a tv, and at the time i was working, and able to afford the weekly payments, after a dispute with my employer, I left the job around may, and suffered financial difficulty and a lot of stress trying to make ends meet, along with having an autistic daughter, i prioritised on what i could, and i missed payments from brighthouse.
After about 4 weeks, I spoke to them on the phone, and offered to pay off my debt with them, bit by bit, on top of my weekly payments, this waas refused, and I was told the only option I had was to pay off what I owed, Plus the weekly charge on top, Plus a week in advance, From what i can remember this totalled about £70, which, no way could i pay, so to end the call i told them i would see what i could do over the next few days, and get in contact again. As i couldnt afford to get the money together, nor was I able to pay off in instalments, I beried my head in the sand and just hoped it would go away. How wrong I was!
They started to come knocking on my door, after 2 minutes they would go away, and leave a note, each time the debt was escalating, 120, 160, but i wouldnt answer the door to them. Next trick they had up there sleeve was stating on the note they pushed through that they are going to get me done for theft....turned my stomach!! there big burley bully boys still came, again and again, banging on the door, shouting through the letterbox, I recently received a letter from Caversham finance, which, I googled, and low and behold....Brighthouse! It stated, 'Failure to contact us within the next 7 days will result in legal action, where we will seek return of the goods, or payment of arrears and court costs'...I thought, at last!!! at least if i go to court, i would be given a reasonable oppertunity to pay, or return goods without them giving me greif, Or so i thought!!
Today they arrive in the big white van again, hiding it around the corner thinking I cant see, bang bang bang, and at one point i think he even used his foot to knock....he shouted through the letterbox, 'I know your in there, if you dont answer the door I will call the police' they were knocking for the best part of an hour, went for 10minutes, came back knocking loudly, and left a card.....my daughter was off school today, ill, shes frightened that her mum is going to get arrested, im scared to leave the house...
Do they have the right to call the police? I dont think i have paid over 1/3...and what can i do????? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!
