It is a long struggle - all the way i am affraid with the shabby.
We complained to Abbey six months ago about the sale of its paymentcare insurance which protects the mortgage. The advisor led us to believe the insurance had to run alongside with the mortgage which we discovered was a lie. After complaining to Abbey at Milton Keynes they rejected the complaint completely and it was referred to the Ombudsman.
The fos have upheld the complaint against Abbey but Abbey have deliberately attempted to further delay conclusion of the complaint by rejecting the adjudicators decision which now means the case has got to go before the actual ombudsman.
So in effect it could take another couple of months to resolve.
I complained on behalf of a friend about their PPI with the Shabby, Wrote first letter of complaint and recieved a form from them to fill in.
The form was completed and returned, and within about 3 -4 weeks they had their full refund.
Was an easy one, for a change..lol

TSB First Claim SETTLED IN FULL 19/10/06
Second Claim to Lloyds TSB - Settled in Full
Firstplus - early settlement interest charges - Challenged the use of the rule of 78 - SETTLED IN FULL 12/1/07
PPI - GE Money / Purpleloans / Firstplus - Now Settled after 1 year long hard fight.
