    Default fitz vs Barclaycard

    Hey all

Thought I'd start my thread while I wait for my statements.

I sent the letter asking for my statements and clearly stated they could take the statutory £10 from my account, 3 weeks later they sent me a letter saying I hadnt included a cheque for £10 and I needed to do this. This is far from clever and actually made me more determined to get my money back, a childish delaying tactic if ever I saw one

Anyway, will update when I get my statements

    Cheers

This is a common response. They don't normally take it from your account.

Hopefully you wont have to wait too long to get them, then you can get started on your claim.

    Sorry to hear this Fitzos.

On the positive side, if you're up for a bit of a scrap, BC seem more willing to settle including CI now.

Have a read up on it and claim from the start, ie include the CI figures on your SOC and claim in your Prelim Letter onwards.

cheers slick, Ive successfully claimed twice now and been on this website until my eyes hurt so this will come across as dense but by CI do you mean the 8% interesticon that you normally claim at the court stage.

    Thanks for mentioning it

    CI is the contractual interesticon.

Here is a thread you should read so you can understand it a bit more.

    Hi Fitz,

Asking about CI is certainly not dense - the subject is a cause of much confusion and this is a topic which the Site Team is working on to clarify it better for members.

Have a look at Redannio's and at b8byd's threads here on the BC forum, where both members claimed CI.

I'll try and come back with the right spreadsheet for you to look at as well.

    Hi Fitzos,

Just checked and the Excel Advanced CC Spready is working for me.

There's another spready being used too. If I can find a link, I'll post it back here for you.

hey all, I have my statements and I was obviously a very sensible lad with my Barclaycard, only £74 in charges, Im sure they will give me this straight back,

Still looking into CI for my other credit cards though as I have much more charges on them, wont bother with CI on this card though hardly seems worth it.

    Howabout a compromise then............

If they don't agree to a full refund in response to your Prelim, send in a new Prelim which includes the CI - ie start a new claim.
