Default DCA trying to collect on a Private PCN - What to do?

Hello and thanks in advance for any advice given.
I've just come across this site in my search for help with a Debt Collector.
I've read through the forums for a bit and am still not quite sure what way to go.

My situation is as follows. My car was issued a pcnicon from a private car park maybe last year or a year and a half ago. As it was private PCN I was advices my a mate that they are worthless and to forget about it but I am now being chased by a DCA saying they will be arranging a doorstep collectionicon.
I would rather avoid any black marks on my credit and really don't want any one showing at my door.

The PCN was issued by BPM and the DCA is ScottCall Debt Collecting Services
(sorry about all the acronyms in one sentence)

As I understand it Private PCN's can be flimsy to begin with but I don't know where to begin to fight this or how to word it. The template letters don't really cover this situation as such.

    Anyways any advice is appreciated

    Cheers
    STM

Regarding the doorstep collectionicon (which in 99.9% of cases never happens) you can send the DCA the following:
    Dear Sirs,

Please be advised that I am only prepared to communicate with you in writing. OFT rules and regulations clearly state that you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make an appointment with you. There is only an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v. Sheppard and Short Ltd [1959] 2 Q.B. per Lord Evershed M.R.).

Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives, to visit me at my property and if you persist in sending "doorstep callers" to my home, you will be reported for harassment and be liable for damages for a tort of trespass. You would also be liable for conspiring in a tort of trespass by acting in defiance of my instructions and sending someone to visit me nevertheless.

Should it be necessary, I will obtain an injunction.

    Yours sincerely,

cheers for that, should I mention the invalidity of the debt itself as well though? I never received any notices from BPM, they sent it straight on to the DCAicon

    Scottythe man,

Rory32 has said it all re: the doorstepper. I think was just the usual BS, I've not heard of it over parking tickets.

Re: the validity of the parking "fine" itself, that too is pure BS. You may find this thread interesting:

Cool Re: DCA trying to collect on a Private PCN - What to do?

Yo thanks a lot guys, between this thread and the the link, to the other one you gave me I think I got it covered.
I'll be writing those DCAicon prats on Monday to tell them where to go ( in a very legit official way of course)

    Cheers for the heads up
