Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Some years back I had a credit card with RBS and ran into difficulties for a time before eventually paying off the car and closing the account. In the interim I had been charged late fees, overlimit fees blah blah blah.
Having read this site, I know that the bank charges are on hold, but felt sure that I could still go back and claim the unfair cc charges, is that so?
So I sent a letter saying I no longer had the account number but provided every last other detail they could possibly want along with my £10 cheque. A few weeks later I got a letter back with cheque attached saying that they couldn't find any details of my account so they couldn't help me.
Is that possible? Is that it? How can I obtain old cc account numbers and more than that, can I claim these charges back?
I'll send out that letter then. Am I right in thinking I can still claim from the 6 years from when I sent the letter then, if I return this letter with a copy of the letter they sent me saying they had no record of me?
