Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Have recieved a letter from HFC offering 510 as a goodwill gesture (claim is for 570 so we are happy to accept). We returned the letter saying we would accept on the proviso that the amount be sent by cheque to us. HFC have refused saying the charges were made from the account so have to be credited to the account. We are currently in a dmp on this account and they are taking us to court for a CCJ so we don't want the account credited. Can I make an argument to insist it comes as a cheque or as a bank transfer. If anyone can help I would be very grateful
