Default RBoS Credit Card ADVICE PLEASE!!!!

It sounds like the Royal Bank of Scotlandicon like to be awkward.....has anybody got one of their credit cards and trying to recover late payment fees, overspend fees etc? What's are your experiences?
It would be so much easier if they would just write back saying "oops! Sorry about that, here...have all your money back."
Also if you claim against them do they order an immediate repayment of balance outstanding on the credit card? It seems foolish to reclaim a few quid if they are gonna make me repay the lot. Should I do a balance transfer before starting action? I only ask because I've applied for a loan today and been refused so I may find it difficult to get a credit card company to take on my massive credit card debt.

    Please help me. Much appreciated.

All the banks are being "awkward" not just RBOS. It would be great if they just said "here you are, have your money back", unfortunately they want to keep their money as much as we want it back lol
I haven't heard of RBOS asking for the outstanding balance back but it is always an option of any company.
You can search through the many posts and I'm sure there are quite a few people that have got their charges back. it takes time and effort but is worth it in the end.
Familiarise yourself with the process by reading the step by step guide in the FAQ section and then go for it!
    Good luck.

The concern of them closing your account is always there, BUT (and I speak only from my own personal experience here!)...

I've had successful claims from MBNAicon, and 2 x Bank of Scotlandicon accounts - ALL of which are still open.

Now, granted I didn't have any debts on the accounts, but it would have been very simple for them to be closed if the companies had been that way inclined.

    Good luck

I have successfully claimed against: "MBNA, Capital One, Bank of Scotland & Clydesdale Bank"

Question Re: RBoS Credit Card ADVICE PLEASE!!!!

Thanks for the advice. I will start sending the letters to my various rapacious banking organisations tomorrow....I don't know if this is any use to anybody or if I should post it in it's own thread but I've spoken to RBSicon Credit Card on the phone and they have given me an address to write to with regard to Data Protection matters. I haven't seen it on any of the previous 'addresses' threads so here it is :

    F.A.O Support,
Royal Bank of Scotlandicon Credit Card Operations,
    PO Box 6050,
    Southend on Sea,
    SS99 1WL.

    Any Good ?

i phoned customer services to get information on a recently closed account, while i was on I asked the lady for the address to write to for a Breakdownicon of charges over the last six years.

She told me she would send them through the post with 14 days for both credit card accounts. I was a little shocked. I can still use this right to reclaim my money ?
