Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
After success with my bank charges with Barclays on my current account I decided to tackle Barclaycard and Capital One.
I sent off my request for statements
when they arrived very quickly I used the spreadsheet to calculate the ammount they owed me plus interest. I made a mistake and sent off requesting for the charges and the interest. In total £800. Barclaycard wrote back to me very quickly and stated they would offer £300 plus the 8% interest as a goodwill gesture. So I used the rejection of offer template and they replied within a few days offering all the money. They had put it into my Barclaycard account, but as they took the card off me a year ago I couldn't take the money out and there was nothing owing on the account. One quick call to Barlaycard later they moved the money into my current account. This took 4 days to go through. Result. Just waiting for Capital one now, refusing to give me all my money. Money claims started tday.
Good luck to everyone else.

Could I just ask where you wrote to to get your statements - I've looked under the Barclays contact addresses but there's loads of stuff on there and not all about contact addresses!!
Good luck with Capital One - they will pay up in the end - just settled mine with them.
