    Default gmac slow to collect car any advise

    hi i have a problem regarding gmac . we have a car on finance with them due to money storages thru ill health i sent them a letter end of dec asking them to take the car back . i filled in a form and signed it like they asked and spoke with them on the phone . and im atill waiting for the car to be collected . what im worried abt is 1.the car is losing value sitting on my driveway 2.arrears are now mounting 3. road is due end of april.im sending them a recorded letter stating the 3 reason i need them to collect the car plus i have told them if the car tax runs out i will scorn the car does anyone have any further advise cheers

    Are we to assume that you have paid enough that you can hand the car back without penalty?

    If that is the case, you could fill their details in the change of keeper section of the log book and send that to the DVLA (recorded) and then park the car in the road once you have received the acknowledgment back from DVLA.

    If it is not that straight forward then you are probably doing the right thing by SORN (again recorded) and not taxing it for the benefit of the HP company.

    Either way, you should let the company know and hightlight in bold the fact that you are parking the car in the road.

    Don't do things by phone, you have no paper trail or proof of anything said.

    hi we have only had the car approx 11months but due to ull health i cant possibley pay the instalments . we have sent gmac a letter stating if its not collected then we will scorn the car next month they phone us yesterday and say they never recieved any letter back from us apart from one abt scorning the car so now they are gonna send another form out for us to sign and fill in which we will record delivery the letter and see what they say from there
