    Default What do I have to call Woolwich?

    I've done the first letter and the lbaicon and am now ready to do the small claims - but what should I call the defendant - Woolwich Ltd/Woolwich Plc/Barclaysicon (Woolwich)?

    I would call them Woolwich as this is their trading name.

    The correct legal thing to do would be: "Barclaysicon Bank PLC, T/as The Woolwich" as the people being sued is Barclays. Woolwich doesn't actually exist as a seperate legal entity.

    But, I'm not sure it matters that much as I don't thing Barclays will argue that they aren't the Woolwich.
