    Default Barclaycard revenge.....

    Hi,

Following a successful settlement of my bank charges claim with BC, I feel they are trying to screw me over with something else.

I checked my statement the other day. Despite the fact that I have a direct debiticon with them for the minimum payment and that I have not used the card for several years, I found myself over the limit and accruing over limit fees of 12£ every month since the summer when my claim was settled.

I phoned them up. The reason why I went over my credit limit apparently, was because my 'direct debit only deals with the interesticon payment and not the PPIicon' which is added on after!?!?!?!?! So the PPI of £20 took me over the limit!!!! The woman on the phone suggested I pay the monthly interest by DD and then pay for the PPI separately!!! Because the PPI depends on how much I 'spend' they can't include it on the minimum payment that comes out my direct debit!!!!!

My understanding of a DD is that they take the money that is owed to them every month. BC have not done that and charged me for the privelage.

Please advise on how I should go about dealing with this.

Thanks for your reply. Do I claim contractual interesticon on the PPIicon? that is currently 27.9%!! Or, do I claim contractual interest when account was first opened? thanks again!

    Hi Vicakers,

You must have a basis for challenging the PPIicon charge, just as you have a valid reason to object to the unlawful penalty chgs.

Reclaim both if this is the case and claim CI if you wish. Be aware that BC will not readily repay the chgs if you claim CI.

Use the spreadsheet (Credit Card; Advanced) from here - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...eadsheets.html

If the charges are not much, you may prefer to use the Simple spreaddy, which calculates 8% Statutory interesticon. You can only add this when you file at Court, so don't claim this in your Prelim Letter or the lbaicon.

There's a better chance of BC repaying the chgs without you Filing Court proceedings. The decision is yours.
