Default Credit card companies in general

    Hi,

Is this a risky track to take with a credit card company when you have an outstanding balance with them currently? I have several cards, all with balances, and I'm contemplating "having a go".

Could they close the account and insist on immediate payment? And is this legal? Any protection for "in the public interesticon" as it would be a retaliation (by them) for looking into an unlawful act on their part?

    Cheers,

    M

Check your t&Cs but yes I think that they can close you down at any time and might indeed do so.

bankfodder - im in a similar situation. i owe money on my credit cards but want to claim charges back. when you said they might close the account, would this mean that they would ask for a full payment? cos i cant obviously afford it or it would be paid off already!
