Having received a 'computer screen' printout of my account from GE Money regarding my Frasercard, I sent the lbaletter for credit/store cards from the templates library
.
I have today received a lengthy reply from Sarah Wainwright saying that when I was issued with my Frasercard I agreed the account would be subject to GE Money's standard tems and conditions etc etc ( I have checked my agreement and cannot find anywhere the actual late payment charge amounts so how did I agree to this?).
Amongst other things she says 'I am afraid that GE Money does not agree with your suggestion that we are not entitled to charge fees. We are entitled to charge fees that reflect the cost to GE Money's business where customers do not observe the terms of their agreement to us'.
She also states that they are currently reviewing the OFT's recent publication into its findings into default charges and reviewing their (GE's) cost base. Their view is that they are entitled to charge these fees and they are unable to refund the charges. And, if I have not done so already to make payments by DD! How thoughtful of her, so if I hit a problem with my bank I can get lots of charges!!
My claim is only for £90.00, but it is my money. Should I just go ahead with my claim or should I send another letter? I have looked through other threads for GE Money but haven't seen anything to use as a guide.
Any advice would be most welcome.
