Hi,im New To This, but I Got My Second Letter Back From The Natwest Still Refusing To Give Me Anything.they Said They Would Arrange For My Statements To Be Sent Out At A Charge Of 5 Pounds.i Have Waited 2 Weeks And Still Havent Recieved Them, how Long Do I Have To Wait And What Do I Do If I Dont Get Them
I suspect that whoever did order the statements did not put a note on your account as to where to send them. Call them again and simply say that you ordered copy statements a few weeks ago and you haven't received them. The bank should re-order them and not charge you another fee for copy statements. make sure that they do put a note on your account or you will be waiting and waiting and......

I personally rang them after 4 weeks and then sent the DPA letter instead. They seem to have been told to be as awkward as possibe. They sent my letter back because I hadn't signed it.
Hiya
Im new to this btw, but Ive just rang the national call centre tel:- 0845 600 2803 (option 2) and asked for all statements for the last six years, they said it would be a £5 charge per statement (Ive asked for two in total) and will take 14 working days so approx 3 weeks by sounds of it.
If you havent received them after three weeks give them a call or send them a letter perhaps.
Hope this helps

i am claiming bank charges back on my two Natwest accounts and one of them has had )£560 of charges in the last 3 months so because i couldnt afford to pay them they have sent my account to a debt collection agency and sent me a letter with intention to file a default against me.i am currently waiting for my bank statements but they are aware that i am taking them to court to get my charges back but now im not sure if i can because of this.please someone tell me what to do next.
Write to the bank and say that as the current balance of your account is in dispute they must not file a default on your account until the matter is settled. If they do place a default on your record then contact the Credit Reference Agencies and as them to remove it stating that the matter is in dispute and that you do not believe you are liable for the amount.
BEFORE starting your claim read through the FAQ's and if there's something you aren't sure of then ask.

forgot to ask before.i was charged 30 for the letter for the default so can i askthem to refund that now or do i add that to my list of bank charges i am claiming back
Carry on with your claim and add the extra £30 to your next letter. You can keep adding charges right up to the Court filing stage

hi,i am claiming charges for two accounts with the Natwest and even though one of them was in credit they have now put a hold on both and charged me £30 for each account as they have said they are gonna default both accounts.can they do this even though one account is in credit.
You are almost in the same position as me, except they have already served a default onto me. I was paying the account back £120 a month by standing order set up by me but they were still charging me £90 in charges so i stopped the standing order as it was pointless.
Do you all think i should write to them saying now the account is in dispute and i am looking to get this default removed?? Still waiting for all my statements.
How do you put your progress at the bottom of your chats??
I have sent three cheques off now for my bakn staemenmts and still havent recieved them.the cheques havent been cashed either so just wanting a bit of advice on what to do.as i know roughly how much the charges are do i have to wait for the bank statements or can i just start the court proceedings.any advice would help
The companies you have approached (I presume it is three?) have 40 days from receipt of your payment in which to comply. Some do need gentle reminders however and if you look here
you will find the templates that you can use for this.
Did you send your cheques via recorded delivery or have you got proof of postage?
Perhaps you could detail who you are claiming from and which address you used for the DPA requests.
However, I notice that you already know roughly what the charges are, so yes, if you are confident that you can compile a claim then you do not need to wait. If you miscalculated, you can always add to your claim in any case.

Do you recall (or did you make a note) of when they said they have received your third cheque? The point is, you sent it, if they have not cashed it that is hardly your concern.
If the 40 day deadline has expired (from when they confirmed receipt of your cheque) then send them the third letter from this page.
Regarding court proceedings, if you have your statements, or a good idea of what your charges are then you can proceed with the first letter. You can find that here.
You can send both letters at once, they go to different departments within the bank in any case.
Regarding recorded delivery, it's value is questionable. If you request proof of postage from the Post Office this will be sufficient should Nat West continue to claim that they have not recieved your letters.
It is important now that you stick to your timetable, if you give them 14 days for example, then write again on the 15th day and move to the next stage. They rely on the fact that many people will give up or not follow through with court action.

This is madness and a waste of our time. Call CS department on 0845 6052605 and just asked for last 6 yrs statments and they will send them in the post within a week for a fee of £5.00.
It worked. Now I have 3 full copies! My account was debited £5 the day after making the call. As for recorded delivery Snatchwest are not signing for them, amazing but true, but proof of posting is the start of your 40 day count down - if you have it.
Good luck
