Thread: PPI arranged through estate agent!!!!! can we claim?

Could anyone please help. My brother got his mortgage through the Yorkshire building society. This was arranged by the estate agent he bought the house through. He was told the PPI was compulsory.

The PPi was arranged through Royal Sun Alliance. I wrote to the Yorkshire Building Society and they confirmed that the PPi was arranged through the estate agent so the claim would have to be through them..... Would we proceed the same way as any other claim and go through the agents...

Has anyone else been down this avenue before.
any advice much appreciated.

I dont know if this helps but my PPI was arranged through the broker who sold me the loan. I spoke to the fos and they said that I should hold them reponsible for the mis selling and not the insurance company who we actually paid.

Thanks for your quick reply...did you go after the broker, if so did you follow the normal guidelines of reclaiming PPI?

Yes I went to the broker and they denied it. So i have now taken it up with the fos as it is all related to anouther case that I have with my PPI. (see my other threads)

I suggest that you go to the Estate agent using the template letters and take it from there.
