Hello, Just came across a big problem while wanting to pay off my mortgage early I got a mortgage from Redstone (never heard of them until a Broker mentioned it to me!!)
Anyway had mortgage for 6 months and now want to pay it off being told by Redstone that I have to pay them £10,000 if I want to pay off my mortgage early as the mortgage is a set rate for 2 years. This is does not seem fair to me pay Redstone over £10,000
Does anyone know anything about this matter do I have to pay them this money or not?
I think you are going to have to look at the contract you signed with them. Have a look at the part that tells you what will happen if you settle early. Ususally with these sort of things, if you settle really early you end up paying a huuuuuge amount to them. The longer you have the mortgage the less the early repayment fee is.
