Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been talking my my nephew today, and he got a parking ticket in summer, but a couple of days after he got it, he had a major family crisis, and he forgot to pay it. Anyway he has now received a letter stating it is now £90. But he cant afford to pay it all in one go, as he is on several benefits.

Is there any way he can pay it in installments?
Can you post up some more details? Who was the letter from? If you have a copy of the ticket can you post that up that as well with identifying details obscured and we will try and help.
What sort of ticket was it? If it's not a pcn or FPN it may not even be payable at all. See the Private Parking Guide in the stickies section. Even if it is a PCN or FPN those they can sometimes be challenged.
Regarding paying in installments if the ticket is a PCN or FPN then it will depend on what stage of the process it is at. However the fact that he is on benefits might give him some relief. He may be able to make an arrangement. I'm not entirely sure of this but there are others on this forum who are.
