Firefox toolbar: please post questions/comments/bugs etc here
(Internet Explorer version now available)
The CAG Firefox/Internet Explorer extension adds a toolbar to your browser which integrates in to the CAG forums. With the toolbar you have quick links to your inbox, subscribed threads, latest news from CAG, and quick links to related projects such as the Consumer Wiki and CIDB. The toolbar also features a search box for searching our forums, wiki, and the internet in general.

Heh, yes you'd need to have Firefox installed. We weren't trying to get people to dump IE in favour of Firefox though - seems that changing your browser is a bit of a carry on just to try the plugin
Re: Firefox toolbar: please post questions/comments/bugs etc here
Why do I need this plug in?

Ok
Why would I want it then - as I'm quite able to do everything it does quickly on my own.

Nah - I was asking webby, really - at first glance it looks as if everything I want to do I can already do on my own without yet another tool bar. I was wanting him to sell it to me.
And your avatar makes me feel ill - I'd rather not have to keep looking at it.
No offence - but it's really annoying.

You probably don't need it. But some people will like it, if they spend a great deal of time on CAG.
Yes, you can do all the things yourself, but this should provide quick and easy access to some of your favourite features - for example all your most recent subscribed threads are available instantly via a drop down, and you can see at a glance if you have a new PM message even if you are not on CAG at the time.
There is also a search bar for searching CAG, but rather than using the search facility built into vBulletin, this searches via a search engine meaning you can perform a boolean search rather than being restricted to what vBulletin allows you to search for - so you can searc for xx AND yy, and it will bring back a comprehensive list of results rather than being limited.
The search bar can also be used as for web searches in place of your existing search engine or toolbar. If you use the search bar then it helps this site, so if you have benefitted from the site's resources it is an easy way of giving something back, without digging your hand in your pocket.
Finally, this is just the first release so we are looking for ways to improve it, so I would throw the question back to you, and ask what features would you like to see on the bar to encourage you to install and use it?

Make an IE7 one.
Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.

But why use IE? Firefox smells much better.
