Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
A&L are not listed on the banks involved in the test case - how does this affect our claims, surely in theory they couldn't stay? Or is this just a case of don't need to most others have?
I haven't started my claim yet, should I do so now and notify them of this in the usual way. Or wait until this test case has been completed ?
As if this test case wins would that mean they would have to refund everyone they're charges or just those that have issued claimed ????
Don't want to rock the boat by issuing a claim when there is no need to, but also worried about missing out on getting my money back out of their grubby hands
Dont worry "rocking the boat" I doubt if everyone will get an automatic refund without asking, assuming the banks lose. If I were you I would just write a general letter saying that you are not happy with the level of charges being levied on your account and could you have a refund. I think all they will do is write back to say that they are awaiting the outcome of the test case but at least you will have registered your claim. I know banks seem very frightening to deal with but just think to yourself that none of this would have happened if people had not stood up to them. Good luck Hils
