Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
This is a bit of a strange one...so please bear with me! lol
Basically my husband had car insurance with the AA when it came to renewal the quote they gave us was a bit high so we shopped about and found cheaper elsewhere and so didn't renew but switched insurer's...no problem there.
Out of the blue in november last year (a month after switching) we recieved a Breakdown of the financial transactions on our acount with AA,the letter said it was requested by us...but we didn't! That was weird but ok since at the bottom of the statement it gave our present balance as £0.00 cr also all correct.
It gets stranger....!! this month we recieve a letter from Central Recoveries saying that basically they've been instructed to recover the unpaid amount of £70.86 on behalf of the AA.... and including the usual DCA threats...failure to respond within 7 days may adversely affect your credit rating etc..
We really can't figuer out what on earth they're going on about as we don't owe anything and AA had stated as much by sending us the statement....
Obivously I'll be sending out a letter to this dca with a copy of the statement that AA sent us,any ideas of how to word it or what to write? Haven't come across anything like this before....
Please remember the only stupid question is the one you dont ask so dont worry about asking the stupid questions.
Essex girl in pc world looking 4 curtains 4 her pc,the assistant says u dont need curtains 4 a computer!!Essex girl says,''HELLOOO!! i,ve got WINDOWS!!'.
I note from various Insurance companies, that they include in the initial conditions, that your next years insurance will become 'automatic' unless you cancel, prior to the renewal date ???nasty way of doing business, but a lot are doing it.
I would not know as l dont have a car so would not no about car insurance.
How would payments have been made?
If the money was taken out of your bank account then maybe checking that the money has not gone out as well would be a good idea as they would have had no entitlement to the money.
Have you tried to speak to AA. They may have made a mistake about this so you may owe nothing to the DCA.
