Default Need Help and Advice Bank Workers

Hi there. I have an issue that I am trying to resolve for a longtime now and I think this website might be helpful.

I have some financial difficulties and have requested my bank, Barclaysicon, for a loan. Now, I filled out the online loan form and was approved. Later, I received a letter from Barclays asking me to forward my identity docs and a recent bank statement. I rang the loan services and had a few words with them regarding the same. The loan services told me that this is just to confirm that you are the actual account holder and that it would not take long to sent the amount that I have requested. After a while, I got another letter from Barclays informing me that regretfully they have rejected my request at this time as I have a Bad Credit file.

Since then, I have tried other banks as well and they have all said the same.

I got in touch with Experian and Equifax and requested a copy of my credit file. Currently, I do not owe any money to anyone as I do not have any credit cards or other loans or such. My credit report was all okay and I went to see my personal banker with it to get some info.

My only question is that when someone is approved online for a loan, can the bank still reject the application. If so, then whats is the use of giving out so much info online?

I would appreciate if a bank worker can help me out on this. Although, I would certainly appreciate comments from anyone who is interested in helping out.

    Regards
    Salman R

I really don't know since I'm not familiar with their procedures and our own personal loans are a little slow...

How was the offer worded online? Did they carry out a credit check? If they did it seems strange that they would change thier minds later on.

How thoroughly have you checked your credit file? Do you (or did you) have any joint accounts? You could be financiallly associated with someone else.

Finally credit scoring can produce strange results, indeed not having ANY credit could mean your credit score does not come up to thier required level.

The views I express here are mere speculation based on my experience. I am not qualified nor insured to give legal advice and any action you take will be at your own risk.
