    Default PPI on credit cards

    Hi all,

I've read through many threads on PPIicon although most seem to relate to PPI reclamation on loans and I want to investigate my chances of reclaiming my PPI on various credit cards I have.

My circumstances were that at the time I took out the credit cards I was employed full time and my employer provided me with an exisiting illness and redundancyicon package. I do not believe that I was informed that I had taken out the PPI when I took the cards out so want to write to all of my providers requesting a refund.

Can I use a general template letter saying that I believe I was missold and ask the credit card companies to investigate or will they simply write back and ask me why?? Would it be better for me to request a CCA agreement or do a full SARicon to see if I did actually request the PPi in the first instance?? Or would I be better off just sending the template stating that I had cover in place from my employer and that I was not aware that I had taken out PPI at the time.

Any advices would be greatly appreciated as I have read through many posts on the PPI forum but most relate to cases regards loans or where claimants had more definite reasons for reclaiming (age, self-employed, etc

Figure I have nothing to lose in trying to reclaim and put the onus on the credit card provider to prove it was correctly sold.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Shazza

It is exactly the same process for credit cards - of course, you will also find that they will say that you agreed to it at the time, and that they are not going to repay.

If the insurance was not needed, and you were not properly informed that it was optional, you have a valid claim.....but be prepared to push them all the way.

    hi shazzaW,

i think youv'e answered your own question!

you dont believe you were informed of PPIicon when you took out the cards.

i think you could use the general template letter, but, be prepared for the negative response, which you will get!

    then cca them.

as you say, "you have nothing to lose".
