After finally receiving a letter back from Egg after 8 weeks with regards to my claim for PPI they seem to be fobbing me off!!
They are dismissing my claim on the basis that they have listened to the conversation that i had when i took the loan out confirming that i accepted PPI in the conversation...
They are also saying that i have signed and returned the documents confirming acception of the PPI after i received a covering letter telling me to the read all he documents carefully...
Now i take it the next stage is for me to ask for a transcript of the conversation word by word?
I also take it that i need copies of these agreements with my signature on?
Any help would be appreciated as not sure what the next stage is!!

Dont know if anyone can help but Egg are being ignorant!!!
I have asked for a transcript of the conversation as they claim i agreed to it all on the phone, word by word...
They then sent me 2 CD's with the conversation on, which did not work... So i sent them a letter back saying i want a word by word transcript, not a CD and also requested copies of the letters i apparantly signed agreeing to PPI...
Well they have sent me a letter back today with another 2 CD's for me to listen too, i am not even going to bother to see if they work because i wanted a word by word transcript, and of course copies of the signed documents never arrived either...
As far as they are concerned this is the end of the matter for them...
I take it i should proceed with my claim in the courts now, a good fact is that they have failed to correctly respond to my DPR request as they claimed to hold documents i have signed but have failed to send them!!

Hello,
If I had the choice to either listen to the actual recording of the conversation or read a word for word transcript that they typed up. Would you believe them I would listen to the cd's everytime.
The recording will also give you the feel for the conversation, did they put pressure on, did they explain things etc.
I am unaware that there is any legislation, that you can insist that they type up the recording for you. I may be wrong, and will stand corrected.
As far as they will be concerned they have complied with your request.

I have listened to the conversation and a few points i can gather...
The conversation was pretty relaxed with quite a bit of joking and laughter
The pace of the conversation got quickers when she was explaining about PPI
I was quoted a package including PPI, never quoted a price without PPI
At the end i was asked if i understood everything, i said yes.
I was told i would receive the documents in the post with everything to read and sign for...
Do you guys still think i have a valid claim? I still havent received the documents stating that i have apparantly agreed to PPI despite them saying they have them...

Hello Bmi,
This is how I rumbled M&S after listening to the telephone conversations. The quote they gave me was with "cover", but with no further explantion of the "cover" which was in fact ppi, and they paid up
What is they explain to you regarding the ppi? Did they ask if you have any pre-existing medical conditions????? Did they ask if you had other existing cover?????
It appears that they did not give you a choice, so the ppi was compulsary

They did ask whether or not i had cover at work etc and i explained i didnt know etc...
They did not ask about any medical questions etc...
I am unsure on whether or not to pursue the claim, i mean if i go to court i will only loose £30
I am just annoyed i was never given the option of taking the cover without the PPI, yes i was told what it was but i wasnt given the option of how much the loan would be without PPI!!!
