Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
GE Money wrote to me this morning after a requested my PPI back claiming that because I signed the form accepting the PPI on the account in store that they do not need to repay it,(they enclosed a copy of my agreement that i signed and dated).
The thing is that the debenhams employee told me that I needed the repayments protection or my application would fail to go through, or at the very least would get referred to there underwritters, and beacuse I was told that I would get 25% off my 1st purchase, i did teh silly thing and agreed.... I paid for the PPI for the good part of 3 years at nearly £30 a month, even though I had salary cover elsewhere...
This happned in 2001 and the account was closed in Nov 2003.
i am unsure what to do, as they owe me something in the region of £1000 in PPI payments, how do I go about proving that i was misold something in the store over 6 years ago?
The letter they sent em even states that the in store employee would and I quote "not have had the time to explain the cover in full, due to the nature and speed of how the account was setup"
I ask you ! the cheek of it !
What is the second step after getting a letter from them declining my request, I even pointed out in my letter that they misold teh policy and that they had been fined for misold policies. Also what made me laugh is that they said they would remove the policy from my acount immediatley, when the account has been closed for almost 4 years !
Which leads me to beleive that they never read my letter in the first place, it looks like a generic letter they send out to all customers.

That to my mind is a definite admission of miss selling, and I would press for repayment on that statement alone, especially as the account has been closed for a few years. They obviously did not read your letter as you say. Send an lba, although others on this site with more knowledge than me may come up with something better. Good luck anyway. I've heard that GE money are really tough nuts to crack :o

ok thanks, what deadline can i place on this letter ?
In the bank templates library there should be just the letter you want. Of course alter it for your own circumstances, but the time schedule is usually just 14 days.
