A friend of mine upgraded her business contract recently with orange, over the phone, and was not informed during the call that the cancellation time was 7 days for an upgrade, and not the 14 days as was the time quoted to her the previous year.
Anyway, she phoned on the 13th day, and attempted to cancel, whereby she was informed that she was out of time.
She then placed a 2 complaints via email, requesting a copy of the telephone recording of the contract sale, and got a very snotty telephone call back from a customer service rep making comments like "nothing can be done", "the girl who sold you that contract has left, so it's not our problem" "We don't always record those calls" etc etc. Bull**** bull****.,
A further 2 faxes were sent making complaints of a mis-sell, and she has not had the courtesy of a response.
She has also been overcharged on her first bill for insurance, that she didn't ask for, and wasn't even discussed at all. When she complained about that, was told it should have been free and would be refunded. Some of the amount was refunded, but not all so she has witheld payment, only to received another snotty call from credit control. I witnessed the call, whereby she told Orange to sent her out a proper bill like they promised, and she will send on a cheque, but the Orange rep just got snottier, refused to listen to anything she was trying to explain, shouting over the top of her. Needless to say, my friend has had enough, and has told credit control to get stuffed and stick the phones.
She is willing to take her business elsewhere, and is wondering how she stands on this issue as Orange as refusing to give her pac codes, and have told her that she will have to pay the remainder of the contract. Where does she stand on this issue?
As well as this, my friend is not a company director - this is a company limited by guarantee that she works for, and I don't think they should have even given her the contract in the first place. Can anyone advise please??
