I think there is some information in the site about being mis-sold PPI if it runs into your pensionable age as they should not have sold it to you if it goes beyond that.
I will see what I can find but I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along very soon.

Would it be worth applying for 3 jobs a month in order to benefit from PPI? You never know, you might actually get another job
(Personally, I see so many people who have paid PPI and then can't benefit when they need it that I would love to see someone actually getting ther money's worth out of it.)

I don't think it matters whether you receive a pension or not, if you've paid the correct stamps/National Insurance you should be entitled to JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) for 6 months. Any redundancy or wages in lieu might affect this though, best to check with the Benefits Office (Jobcentre Plus they're called now) And even if you can't get JSA you can still sign on every week, just to show that you are available for work, and also to get credits for your "stamps".
Are these conditions made clear in your contract? I'm wondering if this is a case of mis-sold PPI, in which case you could claim it back, and put that towards your debts.
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
Should you be offered help that requires payment please report it to site team.

These financial companies beggar belief, they sell you PPI, to protect their payments (not yours) and when you need them, they will make it as difficult as possible.
If you have paid for this every month to find it is of no use to you, then reclaim back every penny you have paid them, plus interest.
Did you choose to have it, or was it just applied.

I think the Citizens Advice Bureau are the best people to help. However, do you know how much the PPI has cost you, and how much is owed on the loan.
If you cannot make a claim on the PPI, the as DM has said, the PPI was almost certainly missold, and you should be able to claim a refund plus interest.

Is There Any Way That I Could Claim For redundancy Using The PPI But Not Return Back To Work Due To Would Like To Retire
If I State That I Am Retiring Then I Cannot Claim?
Please Help Anyone Thanks X
I think Alan is correct, firstly speak to Citizens Advice Bureau.
I think you will find that for the PPI to pay up under redundancy you have to continue to be redundant as it will only pay out each month to make your normal payments. It will not pay off the full debt (that would only have been under the life part of it - I am guessing here).
Again as Alan said you need to check the outstanding balance of each debt and the amount of PPI you have been paying that was possibly mis-sold. Add the contractual interest to that and see how close it comes to paying off the debt.
another thing to look at is have you have previous loand/credit cards that you may have had mis-sold PPI on that you can claim for and also use that to clear the debt.
Post some of the figures and interest rates, balances and ppi payments etc on this tread and let the knowledgable folks get their teeth into them.

Hello, SD,
Do you have the terms and conditions of the policy that they should have sent you.?????? What does it state about your age on the policy????
What about any redundacy pay, can that help to reduce the balance

I have been to CAB for some advise will list the information tomorrow but current debt are and all covered with ppi:
Mint had for 8 months £1000 remaining
Capital had for 12 months transferred £3,500 currently gotten now £2.500
Yorkshire Bank 5 year Loan had for 15 months now of £2000
Lloyds TSB Credit Card took out over 10 Years ago now Owe £1300
Lloyds TSB 2 year Loan taken out 19 months ago currently owe £650
But I looks Like that I have been mis sold payment protection insurance
Citizens Advice Bureau Have stated for me to write a letter stating that the PPI insurance is wrong as it would have never covered for me as i am now in the state of retirement and once i have reached the age of retirement i should have no longer be able to use ppi as they do know that i am a woman of 61 and they know due to loss of job through redundancy i have to sign on and they know that i cannot sign on due to my age
so if possible can anyone write me a professional letter that i need to send in with the claims and stating that i am unhappy with the ppi as it will have never covered for me and hopefully they will pay for the card then i have to wait for the response and if i am not happy i have to take it to the Financial Ombudsman service
will post the information recieved from CAB tomorrow
Please bear with me I am new to this so I will give it a go and please if anyone can help I would be very grateful.
I am a 61 year old female and have been forced redundancy from my employer; I have been there for 37 years now I have 2 pensions
Pension 1 is a state pension at £607 Per Month.
Pension 2 is a private pension at £98 Per Month
And I have taken out Payment Protection Insurance on all the credit cards and loans below:
Mint - (Transferred to This Card) taken out 10 months ago for £1000.
Capital One - (Transferred to This Card) Taken 12 Months ago for £3500 and currently remaining is £2500.
Yorkshire Bank Loan - about 15 months ago was £2000 over 5 years.
Lloyds Tsb Credit Card - Had now for over 10 years at least owed £1300 now.
Lloyds Tsb Loan - about 19 months ago was £2000 over 2 years owe £550
They Will Cover For Redundancy But Want Me To Either Sign On up to the age of 60 for females but have now gotten an council tax benefit not a lot but it helps Or Search For Jobs And Provide 3 Letters To Jobs I Had Replies From Every Month from Lloyds Tsb Insurance documents
And Due To My Age I Cannot Sign On Due To That I Receive Pension.
If I Put In For Retirement They Will Not Cover For Me But Due To Forced Redundancy and Owe £ 7000 to All Cards a Loan And Cannot Afford That Being on a Pension
Been to Citizens Advice Bureau and will post the information received from these tomorrow
I have to do an letter to each ppi insurance claim and state that I am not happy with the ppi as I would have been assumed to be covered for my unemployment in every circumstance in the retirement age and wait until I get an response from each ppi insurance letter and If negotiations with the company fail, then I could refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service
Thanks to all who will help me thanks If I cannot get the cover to cover for me then the CAB has stated that it does looks like that I have been mis sold PPI so can anyone please help thanks
