    Default Lloyds tsb Taken my crimbo bonus

    Hi.

    Those of you that have followed my previous thread's will know of my spiralling hardship case.

    I logged onto my bank account online this morning to find that Lloydsicon have taken my christmas bonus and £25 of my disabled persons tax credits.

    I have recently advised them I am not happy with there lack of knowledge of consumer law.

    The bank now holds part of my benefit and my christmas bonus.

    So.

    I have the following bills to pay this month.

    Water Rates
    Electricty rates
    Gas Rates
    Food Bills

    To stop my blood pressure from rising any more could any one help?

    The next stepmay be a brick through a window of a branch at the moment.

    I thought that the banks who agreed to the waivericon were not allowed to take anymore charges. Or have I misunderstood?

    Below are two of the new recommendations by the reviewer of the Banking Codeicon. The British Bankers Association have accepted the reviewers report and will be expecting its members to comply with the revised Banking Code.


    51. (R13) The right of set-off must never be used to pay off non-priority debts to the detriment of either priority debts, as defined in the Guidance, or to the provision of reasonable day-to-day living expenses.

    52. (R14) Where the customer is in contact with the lender and is constructively negotiating (either directly or through a money adviser), then subscribers should always consider waiving or reducing recurring default charges and/or interesticon unless they have clear reason to believe that the customer can make regular sufficient repayments to cover them and to pay off a significant proportion of the capital.

    Quote the above when you complain to your bank in the strongest possible terms.
