Hi
I Just recieved a 2nd from the bank offering me less than half of my claim, out of "good will" I do not wish to except this offer so what do i do next?
Send them another letter stating you're not accepting it and also send the next letter in the process, whatever that may be in your case. I would also suggest that you read the FAQ section as there are templates there that will help.
Good luck.
Pam.
If anything I've said helps you then please feel free to tip my scales!
I had my 2nd letter a couple of days ago; they offered me £530 in 'Full & Final' when I am claiming £1070 ( plus 8% interest if it goes to court ). I've sent my lba yesterday giving them 14 days to cough up or I'm going to put my MoneyClaim in online - will have been paid by then as well so can afford it lol.
They owe me 3,500 and offer me 975.00., Jokers "a gesture of good will" yea right!!
So im to send a "thanks but no thanks"letter which i can get on this site, cheers.Do they tend to cough up at this stage?
They offered me £975 and my claim is over £5000 i think they must think of a number divide it by 3 half it then take away 100:o lol

I asked the same question and was directed to the FAQs and to a spreadsheet created by Vampiress.
Have a look at it and it all becomes obvious.
The first part you input your bank charges and the interest you've been charged on them. You do this by inputing the charge, then your end of month interest charge.
This goes off with your preliminary letter asking for it back.
Then when you don't get it back, you send your letter before action, asking for it back again, this time threatening court action.
(This is the point I'm now at).
When you don't hear from them, or get an offer of a lower offer, at that stage when you take them to court; you add the 8% bank charges.
I'm not sure why it's at this point, but it's the 'done thing' round here.
I'm sure there's a logical explanation, but I can't give it; I'm a Geordie.
Data Protection Act sent to Barclays Bank 15 May 06.
Bank statements received 9 May 06. Owed £610 in charges and £31.96 in interest.
Ok so I can claim back 8% interest on the £2885 that they owe me which is £462.15 and also court fees too,but this is only to be done when I file for court . I also have £325.50 in Account fee which they have taken and not sure what this is,can I claim for that too!God this bank has taken ALOT of money from me, Cheers Specialk
There is an account fee for Barclays additions accounts, these are the ones with added perks such as travel insurance, if that's the account you have I don't think you can claim the fees back!
