Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights

Hello all - i have just applied for ( and received) a Barclaycard offering 0% interest so that i could transfer the balance from another card, however Barclaycard have refused to allow me to transfer the balance. What would the reason be for this?
If you are a new user they sometimes heavily limit balance transfers (not sure why). Perhaps that could be the reason. Have you phoned Barlaycard and asked them why?
Yes, try phoning them and be very nice (not being funny).
You may get more info from them being pleasant and not irate.
Seeing your various threads, it may be worth asking if anything adverse has shown up on your credit rating - may also be worth taking a look at it yourself to see if anything shows that is not in YOUR name.
It's odd that they've issued the card then refused the transfer.

If you have online access to your new account, then it will tell you the amounts you can transfer, draw cash etc?
How did you request the transfer?
Is the old balance with a Barclays credit card?
I find it odd that i cannot transfer a balance from another card. The card i want to transfer a balance from is my Egg card not another Barclaycard. I tried to arrange the transfer online.
Thank you for requesting an online balance transfer.
I regret to inform you that we are unable to process your request
for a balance transfer. For further clarifications regarding your
request being declined, please contact Barclaycard Customer Services
on 0870 1540154, or from abroad on ++ 44 1604 230230. When calling
the Customer Services number, press 0 and you will be transferred to
a Customer Account Manager.
The above is what was e-mailed to me. I suppose i will just have to call them
- i just wanted a lower interest rate lol.
